So I had my TWO recitals. One for vocal stuff and one for dance. Both went very well. My favorite though was the vocal one since I got to bring two of my friends (Kim & Ray) and got to hang out with my musical theater friends backstage. The stage we preformed at though was kind of lame. It's like a stadium set up so the stage is lower than the audience so it doesn't really feel right. Plus the stage was still painted with a lake and meadow setting from the schools spring play.
I also kept tripping the entire night, I tripped walking down the stair to the stage before I started, I tripped/fell while dancing with Austin (one of my best friends for musical theater)...I accidentally stepped on his foot (while I was in heels, the poor boy) but luckily I broke nothing and he caught me. Then I kinda tripped while doing my solo, but that one wasn't bad. So the stage wasn't too lucky for me.
After the recital Kim, Ray, Austin and I went to Big Boy for dinner. (unfortunately none of us can drive so my parents and Austin's parents also joined us)
The next day I had my dance recital which wasn't as hectic or as exciting. Dancers were all banished to their dressing rooms so I didn't really get to see Austin and I'm not that close with the girls in my dance class (certainly not as close as I am with my musical theater class). According to my parents and dance teacher I did great (even though I told them I messed up several times). Now I have a two week break before starting musical theater and almost a month (I think) break before dance starts. This summer I'm starting pre-comp so I'm excited.
School is as boring as ever. I envy all you people who are done already (*cough* and are partying in Disney World *cough*). I'm starting to prepare to exams and am praying for the end to come quicker. I made Color Guard and Dance Team so my summers going to be pretty busy. I'm missing the first days of Band camp because I'm going to New York for nationals. But my final week being in middle school is being spent studying, sleeping and getting for all the parties that are going to follow.
The lj-cut that I've supplied is a slide show (like my last one) of my dance pictures, some recital pictures and some pictures from spirit week (actual spirit three days....). Doing the slide show is more fun than uploading all the pictures onto xanga and putting them each here separately. The movie is basically of me....so be prepared.
I'm also in grieving over the loss of Veronica Mars. I was told (by my mom) that it's been announced that it won't be returning next fall. This is way worse than Buffy, with Buffy they had an ending, Veronica Mars ended on a cliff hanger.
Next time I post you'll get to hear about my preparations for the 7th (and final *sob*) HP book. I plan to get it at midnight (with Austin) and read until it's over. Then cry for a few days over the fact that I won't have any more HP books to look forward to. Only stupid movies that are nothing like the books (yet I'm still seeing movie 5 at midnight with my cousins...go figure)
You'll also hear about how my attempt at biking 4 miles twice a week to my dance team practices. I'm starting to prepare for that now. I have NO SISTER to drive me to them so I have to bike there. The plus side to that is of course the amazing shape my legs will be in at the end of the summer.
Wish me luck on my exams (particularly my algebra one). Hopefully I'll survive these next 2 weeks (really a week and a half) with full use of all organs. ; )
